PRYNT PHONE CASE WILL PRINT HARD COPIES OF YOUR FAVORITE PHOTOS

WRITTEN BY: CAITLIN LOPILATO/GreenLabel

Thanks to a tech startup in France, you can now immediately acquire physical copies of your selfies and snapshots. They’ve introduced Prynt: a smartphone case that houses an inkless photo printer.

The company took to Kickstarter to introduce the Prynt project in November 2014. With about a month left in the campaign, it’s now fully funded, with over 3,000 backers pledging nearly half a million dollars.

It’s a printer you can slide onto your smartphone that feeds out your photos right after taking them, bringing your digital snapshots into physical form in seconds. You can also pick out photos from your camera roll to send through the mini printer.

No wifi or Bluetooth is necessary for this technology. The case prints photos by heating ink-filled printing paper and the techcessory can hold up to 10 sheets of paper at a time. Prynt's battery life allows for about 30 photos before needing to recharge.

The case is compatible with iPhone versions 5S, 5C, and 6, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and S5.

Prynt also offers a video feature. It allows you to take a video while you’re capturing a photo, which can then be clipped to the image you’ve taken. Later, by pointing the app at the physical photo, the video will appear on your phone, allowing you to relive the moment. The video is also stored in the Cloud, giving family and friends the ability to share the memories.

The Prynt phone case is now available for pre-order with a $99 price tag.
