We Are Hip Hop ft VISUAL | Don't Shoot

Chicago has infamously been known recently with terms like "ChiRaq" being used to describe the great city and it's unfortunate gun violence. The youth of We Are Hip Hop and their instructor VISUAL (@ISeeitall) created this song to make a statement against the gun violence and it's stereotypes. Enjoy & please share

The 10th annual We Are Hip Hop Youth Festival is coming on August 8th 2015. Teaching artist, VISUAL, and his students have created a song to promote the event.

The youth festival, which was initially geared to preserve and celebrates the positive aspects of Hip Hop culture in Chicago will also focus on giving youths a fresh perspective of music, arts and an avenue to have critical discussions about its political/social aspects and role/responsibility of the artist.

For 10 years, Elevarte Community Studio has supported, empowered and employed over 225 #AtPromise youth to plan the “We Are Hip Hop Festival”. The Festival continues to showcase the positive aspects of the Hip Hop culture by highlighting Chicago talent and listening to the voices of our youth.

Join us as we celebrate Chicago youth and their 10 years of work as agents of artistic progression, community building and social change!
